Big Blue Offers Extremely Rare Internship Opportunity

IBM offers a rare internship opportunity through its Extreme Blue Internship. The internship, open to technical (software development/programming) and business (undergrad/MBA) students, is perhaps the closest most will come to a dream job. Interns get to work on real-world, cutting-edge projects that either end up patented and utilized in one of Big Blue’s business units, or available as open source downloads a la Linux.

The Extreme Blue Internship is an incubator for talent and innovation. Interns have an opportunity to practice intrapreneurship at its best–creating technologies, business plans and go to market strategies for their new products or services.

Internships last 10-12 weeks per session (June-August in the U.S.). Interns work in teams of 4–three technical team members and 1 business team member–and are assigned sponsors and mentors who are foremost experts in their fields. Team projects are based on real business problems so interns work with the latest technology and the full resources of Big Blue. If done well, your project will end up a real project and you’ll end up with a j.o.b.

The Extreme Blue Internship takes place in IBM labs in the U.S., Canada, Europe, India and China.
