Ace Hardware and Mars Incorporated are offering some lucky would-be entrepreneur the opportunity to win their very own Ace Hardware store as part of their Dream Ace Contest.
One lucky winner who passes the entrepreneurship suitability test and answers 3 essays questions (up to 100-words per answer) will qualify to compete for the second round.
If you are among the highest scorers in round 1, you move to round 2 which includes more tests, a bootcamp and a few more questions. This time you’re competing against others from your state or region.
The highest scorers from this round move on to the finals. The consolation prizes for those who bomb out of round 1 include a $100 gift card. Get to the later rounds and you win $1000-$5000.
The winner gets a spanking new Ace Hardware store currently slated to open June 30, 2007 in Houston, Texas (though the sponsors are reserving the right to change the location).
The winner will also receive opening inventory, equipment and other support to get the store open. The winner also receives paid travel and training in preparation for the store opening.
The whole package is worth $1,000,000, though the sponsor reserves the right to pay the winner the mil in lieu of giving them the store.
