Career Gear: Flying Mice Increase Productivity, Reduce Repetitive Injuries

Logitech recently unveiled its latest, most technologically-advanced mouse ever, the MX Air Mouse. The MX Air is Logitech’s most expensive mouse to date, but well worth the $150 given the cool functionality. Among the features that make the MX Air worth adding to your career gear is its motion-sensing technology similar to that found in Nintendo’s Wii game system, including a gyroscope that tells the mouse the direction in which the mouse is pointing and an accelerometer that tracks the direction of the mouse’s movements. And, the mouse is sensitive enough that you don’t have to worry about the mouse mistaking a twitch for a move or a click.
The mouse is compatible with both MacOS X and Windows Vista, and can be used to control iTunes, play games, control a home theater PC, launch video players and navigate Firefox tabs. After installing a bit of software, you can use the MX Air to perform tasks in all Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Photoshop and WinDVD.
Logitech replaced the old scroll wheel with a thumb-operated swipe pad that lets you move pages up and down and scroll quickly through onscreen pages.
Finally, you need not worry about USB cables since the MX Air uses a 2.4 GHz radio spectrum to interface with your computer. The radio spectrum works like WiFi and even senses and avoids interference by changing to a different frequency.
All of this adds up to the ultimate in form and function–a cool bit of gadgetry that performs as it should, and has the added bonus of actually being good to your aching tendons. Because the MX Air allows you to utilize natural hand and wrist motions, and doesn’t require awkward repetitive dragging motions over mouse pads.
Try the MX Air, then check out other great career gear.
