Do you have a product that you know will be a best-seller with the QVC crowd? Are you the perfect pitch-person for your product? Could you persuade millions to love your product the way you do?
Great. All you need is a break, right?
Here it is.
QVC representatives will be on hand at the Santa Clara Convention Center on Sept. 27, 2007 for the Women’s Leadership Exchange’s Northern California Conference. The reps are prepared to offer conference attendees a 5-minute quick review of their product to assess whether it’s ready for prime-time on the top-selling TV shopping network. The conference pass costs a paltry $299. That’s a small investment for your future.
See yesterday’s post to learn more about the conference. To get in, register now.
Can’t or don’t want to go to the conference? No problem.
QVC reps will be on hand at two other WLF conferences in New York and Atlanta in Oct. and Nov., respectively. The details are as follows:
Can’t make any of the events, QVC is hosting an online product search.
So, what does QVC look for in a product?
QVC looks for products that (1) Demonstrate well, (2) Solve a common problem, (3) Make life easier, (4) Appeal to a broad audience and (5) Have unique features and benefits.
How does the product review process work?
- Submit a digital photo and description of your product online or bring a product sample (and a one-page flyer with a photo and description of your product) to a QVC product review at one of the WLF conferences
- A QVC Product Specialist and buyer reviews your product(s)
- If your product is of interest to QVC, a sample will be requested to go through Quality Assurance (QA) testing.
- If the sample passes QA, the QVC buyer may issue a purchase order for the initial minimum order.
- You’ll be given access to your own QVC vendor webpage, complete with QVC packaging, labeling and shipping guidelines.
- Next, you’ll need to clear the last round of QA.
- Then, it’s time for your 15 minutes!
Other bits you should know:
- A profile of the QVC customer (all 89 million of them): Active, in-touch, savvy female shoppers who shop department stores, catalogs, the Internet and specialty stores for unique buys.
- Product evaluation is free.
- QVC does not manufacture your products; QVC buys your products at wholesale prices and then retails (sells) them on-air.
- The minimum initial order is not less than $20,000-$25,000 per item at each item’s total wholesale cost.
- The entire ordered quantity must be in QVC’s warehouse BEFORE the product is on-air.
