Sarasota International Design Summit–November 5-7, 2007

The Ringling College of Art & Design is hosting the Sarasota International Design Summit, a conference that brings together artists, designers and innovators from the worlds of philanthropy, technology, fashion, art and science to share their ideas and designs, and discuss the theme “Designing for Life: Transforming People, Places & Products”.
The goal of the event is to bring designers, innovators and big thinkers from other realms together to work toward weaving sustainability and design into all facets of design.
Topics will include:
- Human-Centered Design
- Service Innovation and Decision Design
- Generational Design
- Social Entrepreneurship
- New Philanthropy
- Technology, Entertainment and Health
Scheduled speakers include Tim Sarnoff, President of Sony Pictures ImageWorks, Constance Adams of NASA, TransHab, Valerie Casey of Frog Design, Scott Charon of Herman Miller and Beth Viner of Smartspace, IDEO.
The event also features a tour of the Ringling College campus, breakout sessions and a Fast Company party. More than half of the events will be held in the Ritz-Carlton hotel.
