Consumer Technology Innovations 2007-Nov. 27-28, 2007

Posted on | November 13, 2007 | No Comments

Dow Jones presents Consumer Technology Innovations 2007.  This year’s theme is “Downloading the Digital Lifestyle”.  The event brings together organizations and people from every corner of the digital and consumer technology sphere.  Representatives and executives from Disney Online, Sony Online, Cysco, Nintendo, Comedy Central and the Wall Street Journal are scheduled to attend.

The conference will feature keynotes by Joanne Bradford, Corporate Vice President & Chief Media Officer, MSN, Microsoft, Curt Schilling, Red Sox pitcher and founder of gaming company 38 Studios, and others.  Panelists, including Vince Brody, Head of Games, Entertainment and Youth Properties at Yahoo, Reggie Fils-Aime, President & COO of Nintendo America, and Vincent Dureau, Head of TV Technology at Google, will discuss topics such as the online gaming, the next big consumer technology and the future of online video, social media and advertising.

But, the big draw, as far as I’m concerned is the opportunity to listen to the business plans of 60 hot new consumer technology firms, including Consumer Innovation’s own editors’ “Top 10″ picks:

  1. adap.tv – Serves ads that match what the viewer’s watching
  2. CastTV – Video search technology to find and catalog Web videos.
  3. KickApps – Allows Web developers to easily add video, audio and social networking functions to their pages.
  4. MediaMaster – It’s working with FaceBook to enable its customers to upload their music to MediaMaster and play their songs over any Net-connected device.
  5. Ooma – Unlike Vonage, this VoIP service only charges $399 for the hardware. So talk away…all local and long-distance calls are free.
  6. Provina – Make your own wine with this personal winery Web-based device.
  7. Revision3 – Web-based TV network founded by Digg’s founders.
  8. techTribe Networks – LinkedIn, but in India.
  9. Veveo – Search engine for video over cell phone.
  10. ViTrue – ViTrue enables corporate advertisers to tie in UGC to their ads to better target their messaging.
