Career Question: What has your network done for you lately?

By now we all understand that having a network of contacts, and networking, is a good thing. But, are we getting any real value from our networks?
If you’re like me, you’ve got a profile on every networking site–Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, Womenforhire–everywhere. You collect business cards like a mad woman. You even camp out at the office so you can go directly to happy hour networking events.
Good for you. But what is your network doing for you?
What can you realistically expect to get from your network?
