I know it’s tough out there, but there are still jobs out there. Here’s the latest list of new jobs. This one’s a big one–nearly 2,500 jobs!new jobs at careersthatdontsuck.com

COMPANIES ADDING JOBS

  • Whirlpool Corp. says it will add more than 100 jobs at its Tulsa manufacturing plant beginning this month.
  • CSX Transportation plans to hire about 80 people to work at a new $4.5 million dispatching center in Huntington, W. VA.
  • Brown Shoe, parent company of Famous Footwear, expects to eventually create an additional 230-430 jobs in St. Louis, Indiana.
  • Machine Tool & Gear Inc. is investing $2.8 million to add 14 new jobs at its Corunna Industrial Park facility in Shiawassee County in Corunna, MI.
  • TRW plans to expand into a new facility in Lafayette, Indiana and add as many as 200 new jobs.
  • Performance Fabrics and Fibers, a manufacturer of specialty, non-woven fabrics, is building a new plant in Williamsburg County in Columbia, SC and adding 42 full-time employees.
  • ZeniMax Media Inc., parent company of Bethesda Softworks in Rockville, Maryland, is bringing a new online game development studio to Hunt Valley, MD. The studio will focus on the Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) market. ZeniMax Online Studios is currently hiring for lead positions in animation, art, programming, content design, production and network administrator.
  • Ford plans to add 500 jobs at its Oakville, Ontario complex to boost production of hot-selling Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX crossover utility vehicles (I know it’s Canada, but it’s just so darn close by).
  • Microsoft is establishing a local product-development office that may ultimately employ 50 people in Minneapolis, MN.
  • Sutter Street Manufacturing, a national distributor of upholstered furniture, is planning a manufacturing and distribution facility in Hickory, NC. Sutter Street Manufacturing expects to create 820 jobs over the next five years.
  • Capio Partners, a company that operates call centers, signed an agreement with the Sherman Economic Development Corporation to open a new call center and hire 168 full-time employees. Capio could begin hiring as early as May and says the average wage is expected to be $14 an hour.
  • Domtar Paper plans to add 90 jobs at its Fort Mill, SC operations center and invest $1 million in expansions in the next year.
