It’s the biggest news of the day. The California Supreme Court voted 4-3 to overturn the state’s voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage. Regardless of how you feel about the news, it’s an opportunity.
Retailers, caterers, party planners, stationers and others that work the event planning and party sector have been losing money as we collectively cut down on our discretionary spending. But, today’s ruling offers an opportunity to dust off the party supplies, invitations and the plastic grooms. Gay couples all over the great state of California will be running to the alter in short order.
Gay couples in California are a relatively well-heeled set. They’ll be willing to plunk down big bucks for custom invitations, wedding planners, venue rentals, caterers, travel agents and much more.
