What in Twitter Nation Is This?

If you’re wondering what’s with the super short posts you’re now seeing on the site, they are my “Tweets”.  Quick little thoughts that I share on the fly via Twitter, a micro-blogging platform (more fun than it sounds).

In case you don’t know, micro-blogging is just what it sounds like–tiny blogging.  The posts are limited to 140 characters so that it encourages Twitterers to share more often but not too much.

It’s a terribly addictive little technology that I use in fits and starts.  Right now, I’m all over it because I’m sitting in a classroom at Stanford University as part of the Stanford Professional Publishing program.  Sitting still makes me nervous.  Twitter is a great release.

But, I’m not simply thought-casting here.  I’d like to use this opportunity to introduce you to one of the Web’s hottest apps, maybe its hottest.  It’s a social media application but it has the potential to be so much more, as we’ve seen via Obama’s use of Twitter in his history-making campaign and its use by book authors and tech gurus to promote their products.  Twitter is the ultimate career gear.

Twitter is also a great way to get in touch with me directly and in real time.  Follow my Tweets.
