JobGenie, an Australian company, has just opened beta on its new social recruiting website, 2Vouch. The site promises a way to monetize your Facebook (and other) friends. Employers post job specs and you play headhunter-matchmaker by referring your qualified friends. For your troubles you’ll receive $1,400-$2,800. It’s not a brand new idea; a U.S. company tried this a few years ago. They’ve faded from memory and obviously failed to carve out a real niche. But, folks seem to be excited about 2Vouch.
So far, 2Vouch is serving the Aussies only, but if it works, JobGenie or a U.S. “me-too” operation will make it available to us soon.
In the meantime, you’re welcome to approach recruiters (plenty of whom have LinkedIn profiles) and broker your own referral deals.
