Finally, a bit of good news. There are companies still adding jobs. Here’s a taste.
NOW HIRING
- Victoria’s Secret Direct plans to hire 435 employees (255 seasonal) at its Kettering, OH customer care center and 360 workers (120 seasonal) at its Rio Rancho, NM customer care center.
- Victoria’s Secret is also hiring at its corporate headquarters in Ohio. Positions include visual merchandising, programming, and web analytics.

- Sequenom Inc., a San Diego-based biotech company is bringing 500 jobs to Grand Rapids, MI as part of its $20.3 million expansion. Wages will top $1,700 per week.
- AT&T plans to add about 50 jobs by year end at its Goldsboro, NC customer-support center. The company will open similar centers in Florida, Louisiana, Alabama and Kentucky. AT&T is also hiring managers, consultants, technicians, administrative assistants, and sales representatives in nearly every state.
- Cameron International Corp., a Houston, TX-based provider of valve equipment to the petroleum industry, will add 110 jobs as part of a $49M expansion of its Ville Platte, LA manufacturing plant. The plant has 500 jobs and a pay average of $49,000/year.
- Springdale, PA-based PPG Industries will buy BASF Corp’s industrial coatings business and add 55-60 new jobs.
