Fast Facts: 4.61 Million Collecting Unemployment

Mercifully, the number of new unemployment claims dropped by 24,000 to land at a record 467,000 for the week ending Jan. 3. The small, but good news is that this is the second week in a row that new claims are down below 500,000.
