Industries Where You’re Most Likely to Keep Your Job

We focus a lot on finding jobs, but keeping your job is just as important.  And, if you can’t stop your company from closing or your job from being cut, the least you can do is be prepared.  You should know which industries are least likely to have layoffs, or at least less likely to have massive layoffs, and conversely, which industries are most likely.

Just as the unemployment rate varies by state, it also varies by industry.  Depending on the industry in which you work, you could fare better, or worse, than your fellow worker.  Here’s a look at the unemployment rates by industry.  I’ve focused on the industries with the lowest unemployment rates.  If your industry is not listed, chances are, you should start looking for a job in one of the ones that is listed below.
