Jobless Claims Rise to 554,000

By now, you’ve heard that jobless claims have risen on the heels of automaker plant shutdowns. According to the Labor Department, initial claims for unemployment benefits are now up to 554,000. But, what does that mean for you? Well, first, unemployment claims are still trending downward. That’s good. And, there are still more than 3 million jobs available now. That’s even better…if you’re qualified.
