States With the Highest Unemployment

There’s always an upside and a down.  An earlier post was about the good job-hunting grounds.  This one’s about those states you’ll want to avoid if you are considering relocating to find a job.  That said, this doesn’t mean you’ll never find a job in one of these tight markets.

States With the Highest Unemployment

  1. Michigan – 15%
  2. Rhode Island – 12.7%
  3. Nevada – 12.5%
  4. California – 11.9%
  5. Oregon – 11.9%
  6. South Carolina – 11.8%
  7. Ohio – 11.2%
  8. Kentucky – 11%
  9. North Carolina – 11%
  10. Florida – 10.7%
  11. Tennessee – 10.7%
