Unemployment Rate for College Grads Is Up, But College Still Worth It

According to the Department of Labor, the unemployment rate for college grads with a bachelors degree or higher rose from 4.7% in August to 4.9% in September. But, despite this, and the fact that tuition costs are rising astronomically (up to 30% at some colleges), college grads are still faring better in the job market than those without a 4-year college degree.
UNEMPLOYMENT RATES BY EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT (Sept. 2009)
Bachelors degree and higher 4.9%
Some college, associates degree 8.5% (up from 8.2% in August)
High school graduate, no college 10.8% (up from 9.7% in August)
Less than a high school diploma 15% (down from 15.6%)
