In a now well-worn move (remember the “Best Job in the World”?), the Irish Times has partnered with a group of travel agents, airlines and wedding planners to drum up publicity for a little-known/used vacation destination using the lure of a too-good-to-be-true job. In this case, it’s the “Ultimate Job in Ireland”, the Honeymoon Tester.
Honeymoon Testers are “romantically linked couples over the age of 18 years” who “research and test the most romantic and ultimate wedding and honeymoon destinations all over the world and report back to their bosses” via social media (blogs, photo feeds, tweets, videos). The gig lasts 6 months and pays about $27,000 USD plus travel and accommodation for you and your significant other.
To enter, you’ll need to create an 80-second video explaining why Ireland is a great destination wedding location and why you and your honey are the perfect couple for the job. Upload it to YouTube by April 7, 2010. Then, get all of your friends and family to vote up your video.
